Dedicated Funds to Support Assumption of the Blessed Virgin mary Parish

"You are being enriched in every way for all generosity, which through us produces thanksgiving to God," 2 Corinthians 9:11

Retirement Fund for Religious

Religious give thanks. A religious sister writes, "When we see the generous response of so many thousands of persons in order to help us, religious men and women, we are left speechless." Senior sisters, brothers, and religious order priests across the country send heartfelt thanks and prayers for your donation to last week's Retirement Fund for Religious collection.

PERIODIC GIFTS

Periodic gifts may be described as contributions that happen at specific time(s). For instance, a gift may come in the form of a:

• Response to a specific appeal

• Way to honor or memorialize a loved one

• Charitable contribution as part of year-end tax planning

To provide a gift, you may simply put a check in the collection basket or bring a check to the Parish Office, with the specific fund you wish to support noted in the memo line.

PLANNED GIFTS

Planned gifts may be described as thoughtful gifts of assets, often times over and above what might be donated to the church on a regular basis. Over time, these assets may grow in value and may trigger an expensive capital gains tax when sold. One solution is to give all or part of an asset to the church. By doing so, you benefit by helping others and by receiving a tax advantage. These gifts may include:

• Investment assets like stocks, bonds, and real estate

• Estate plan elements like wills, trusts, and life insurance

To accomplish such a gift, you may need to involve your financial, legal, and tax advisers and complete specific legal forms, listing the church as a beneficiary. For planned gifts, please contact the Parish Office for details on how to proceed.
